Because she slummed it and took a class with me this last semester. It feels really good to be done with it, but I’m really bummed that Whit and I are losing one thing that we got to do together every week. Oh well. Maybe again someday.
I don’t tell her enough how AWESOME I think it is that she and I attend the same school. And I’m really sad that tonight is our last night of class together. It’s been awesome sharing a class with Whit and I’m going to miss that. I’m so proud of her and so happy that we get to go to school – at least in some sense – together.
Last week Whit passed her first TPA and got raving reviews from her graduate school professors. I’m so proud of her. She works so hard and has such high expectations of herself. I’d likely still be a flake if she weren’t around to inspire me.
Her sis is sad and Whit’s being there for her. That nurturing and loving side of her is what I love best.
But most recently, her complete and unquestioning willingness to save her new family yesterday. Graham and Michelle got in a terrible wreck and my folks needed Whit to watch their daughter – our niece – Faith. Before I could even get the question out, she said “I’ll watch Faith. I’m on my way.”
Means more to me than I can say.
She knows. 😉
Wait wait wait. That makes it sound like she might be guilty of the ghost fart – and she’s not. So here’s the story:
We’re at dinner at school in Biola’s BOMB cafeteria (seriously – makes the tuition worth it!) when we both catch a whiff of fart-stink. And we caught it at the same time with the same amount of surprise. I know it wasn’t me, I’m confident it wasn’t her – – but there was no one around. Also, accompanying the fart-stink was a weird cool blast of air from what seemed like nowhere.
SO!
That happens and Whitney says, “Ghost fart!”
So! It’s official. Whit and I have been a pair for 4-and-a-half years (plus a couple of days)! It’s really exciting for me, and kind of weird. I mean – it’s weird because it seems like I’ve known her my whole life and at the same time seems like we just met. These 4.5 years have flown by! Makes me anxious to see how the next 4.5 months fly by!
Also – we had a rough weekend. We were both (but mostly me) busy and ended up crossing paths more than actually seeing one another. But we did get to watch The Office – good one this week. Hopefully I’ll get to see more of her this week. I miss her terribly.
