Mama is ready to bring her chick home! No matter how uncomfortable, stick-outy, or nauseated she is, she not only takes care of our toddler, but works to make a home for Aanestad Baby #2.

I can’t tell you what an amazing mother she is. I’ll just say that anyone who had somebody other than Whit for a mom missed out!

I’m thankful that Whit encourages outings. I can be a bit of a homebody. And, worse, a bit of a humbug when we go out.

But Whit loves to go out and explore and learn. And see it all. Learn it all. Drink it all. Smell it all. And it’s good for me to do, too. This is the end of a long/hot day, exploring SeaWorld with my ladies 🙂

Whit, as I’ve mentioned before, is the most driven, hardest working person I know.

One of the perks of being a school teacher is that she gets to take the Summer ‘off.’

Well. Hers is only kind of a vacation, because she’s dealing with the last two months of a pregnancy, which, as I understand, is anything but a stroll through the park.

So here’s to hoping that her body, her soul, and our baby allow her some real, restorative rest over the next couple of months.

She deserves it.

She’s suppressed it for my sake, but yesterday, she just had to get some nesting done for our new Aanestad chick.

I love that Whit’s not just a ball of raw maternal instinct. She’s careful and thoughtful and wants to provide the best life possible for her papoose(s). And she does a dang-freaking-darned-good job of it. Any child who has Whitney for a mom is richly blessed.

And I love her for that.

So, our poor child looks like dad (though, I see more and more mom — thank, Jesus — coming through).

But she is her mama’s daughter! Which is wonderful, because the world needs more people like Whit.

Today, Whit taught her dad how to computer.

And I love that.

I know this blog is I LOVE Whit. And I do.

But I also miss Whit.

Today, I think about just how lucky any/everyone is who has Whit as a mother.

🙂

I’m struck by just how much Whit loves our babies. She is endlessly selfless with Kjirie. It’s really incredible. No matter how tired or sick or out-of-patience she is, she always puts her girl first.

And with Libby, our fur baby, too. Whit’s big baby-loving heart dotes on that dog. If it were up to me, she’d just live outside, but Whit sees her as a part of the family. She buys her treats at the store. She lets her inside when I’d just as soon leave her out. She plays and snuggles with her…gives her a mother’s attention.

And with the new Aanestad baby. Whitney is experiencing constant, unbearable heartburn. But she limits her antacid intake so as not to harm the baby (who, by the way, is causing the heartburn).

When it comes to her babies, Whitney is absolutely self-sacrificing. I’m proud of her and I love her (.com).
